DNS is one of the corners of the Internet. Simply put, it is designed to replace the domain names, called ghacks.net in IP addresses. This process is usually controlled by the Internet service provider, but it is often not the best option.
ISPS DNS can sell data, they can provide services that do not offer good performance, or they can block access to certain materials.
Public DNS promises to improve servers. There are lots of there, and while promising many better performances, they can also be used to collect and sell data, or otherwise data.

DNS4EU
DNS4EU There is a new DNS resolver that is co-funded by the European Union. This is secrecy-transportation. The user’s IP address is “completely unknown” and no “private data is collected anywhere”. This means that it fully aligns with GDPR and other European Data Protection Rules.
A negative side is that it only supports places in Europe, from Spain to Greece and Ireland to Poland. If you connect to one of these places, it is fine, but if you connect to other places then the performance can be damaged.
By the way, here there are five IP addresses you can set:
- Protective resolution
- IP address 86.54.11.1
- IPV6: 2A13: 1001 :: 86: 54: 11: 1
- Protective + child protection ,
- IP address 86.54.11.12
- IPV6: 2A13: 1001 :: 86: 54: 11: 12
- Protective + advertising inhibitor
- IP address 86.54.11.13
- IPV6: 2A13: 1001 :: 86: 54: 11: 13
- Protective + child protection + advertisement blocked
- IP address 86.54.11.11
- IPV6: 2A13: 1001 :: 86: 54: 11: 11
- Unfliest resolution
- IP address 86.54.11.100
- IPV6: 2A13: 1001 :: 86: 54: 11: 100
Unfiltred resolution is the only option that does not block anything. The protective resolution combines the danger intelligence and security in DNS. Keep clearly, it blocks the known malicious IP address, and thus the sites, automatically.
If an IP address is on the blacklist, the connections automatically fail. It facilitates danger intelligence and real -time updates, uses artificial intelligence, and focuses on regional threat intelligence for better security of European users.
Child protection and advertising are two material filtering options.
The purpose of child protection is to block access to child-innovative materials such as sexual content, weapons, drugs, terrorism, racism or violence. Thanks for reading..-Blocking Advertising, similarly how AdGUARD DNS.
The website includes instructions that explain how to change DNS on equipment. It includes Windows, McOS, Linux, Android, iOS, Home router and browser.
How fast is DNS4EU DNS servers?
I downloaded the latest version of free DNS benchmark software by Gibson Research, adding five DNS server IP addresses, and conducted the test.
Here is the result.

Unfiltred DNS server ended in second place, protective and child protection server in the fourth. This is a good result, but you need to remember that your mileage can be different if you connect with the European Union.
Closing word
DNS4EU adds another option for internet users when it comes to switching to better people than their ISP DNS server. While it works best from a European location, it allows connections to places outside the European Union. However, the performance is prone, so that most users want to choose a better performing DNS server instead.
The tests need to show how well it works to block, protect the child and really block malware. If you use the unfiltered server, you can leave all.
Now you: What do you have to take on this? Will you use DNS server from the European Union, or do you favor someone else? Feel free to leave a comment below.
