In early July, I began testing the mint on an external SSD. Three weeks ago, I finally dug the windows after 30 years, and Linux went to Mint. I also briefly tested Fedora KDE on my exterior SSD, but turned it into a buzzite for test purposes. Certainly, the mint is updated, and the support of the Velland is not impressive. But I have no problem with apps on my game (steam, gog, epic game), or X11. Even I have a Windows virtual machine (to test/write about them) in Qemu/KVM.
Linux Mint 22.2 Beta Isos Cinnamon, XFCE and Met Desktop are available for downloads with environment. Since this is my primary machine, I will not test beta anymore. But I will install Mint 22.2 when the stable version is released, the next week is likely to be.
From the other side, Debian 13 tricks has been released. Linux Mint Debian version 7 will be based on Debian 13. LMDE 7 is called Gigi, and is expected to be released in September.
Have you tried Linux Mint 22.2?
