Notepad for Windows 11 will soon let you use markdown formatting. The text style allows users to format elements in a plain text document. It is very popular among the programmers, and its syntax as regular users is suited to the user, and much easier to understand compared to HTML.
Notepad remains a basic editing app for plain text, it has never adopted proper formatting till now. This was probably because users preferred to use other apps such as now and other apps when the users needed to edit their documents with formulating styles such as bold, italic, etc. for the documents.

Microsoft says Users who do not want to use the markdown in the notepad may disable the feature from the app settings. The new Text Formating Style Notepad version is available in 11.2504.50.0, for Windows internal sources in canary and Dev channels. If it receives positive response from examiners, Microsoft will roll out the markdown in a stable channel for Windows 11 in a few weeks or months.
