Report: PayPal is blocking Steam payments in most regions and for most currencies | Free Download

Valve software, owner of the popular steam gaming platform for PC, supported several payment options. Steam users recently noticed that they could no longer pay using PayPal. The valve has now published information on its support website about what is happening.

In a new entry – the use of papail on steam is currently unavailable in my currency. Why? , Valve tells PayPal transactions on steam are limited to Eur, CAD, GBP, JPY, AUD and USD. Any other currency, large or small, is not accepted in the present.

The valve claims that Payal informed them that it would “immediately” abolish any transactions related to steam that were not in one of the mentioned currencies. Neither the valve nor PayPal offered additional insight. It is unclear why PayPal is preventing transactions for most currencies and regions at the time of writing.

In other words: PayPal users from Switzerland, Brazil, Poland, South Africa, Turkey, South Korea and dozens of other countries cannot use PayPal to buy digital games or property on steam.

Steam payment

The valve suggests that the steam users use other means in the meantime. This may include credits, direct bank transfer, or adding funds on steam using a code or physical gift card.

You can select a payment method on review and purchase page. There you can select one of the available payment methods. PayPal should not be available, if your country’s currency is not one of the six that are still supported on steam.

At this point it is not clear whether it is another result of the recent change of the valve about adult material, which claims the valve that the payment was pressurized by the processor. This took place last month, but the Payal issue predicted it for at least a few days.

This is not the first time that steam user fled into troubles while trying to use PayPal to buy games. For a time, Payal was also not supported on steam.

There is a chance that things can change in the near future. The valve says that it is in contact with PayPal to find a solution for the issue.

How are you? Do you use steam or other gaming store to buy digital games? If yes, what is your favorite payment method and why? Feel free to leave a comment below.
