Rest in Peace Windows? Large YouTube channel tests gaming performance on Linux | Free Download

1. For anyone who wants to get 3fps, there are ways to ‘minimize’ Windows, so saying “get rid of the bloat” is stupid, if you are a technical person, you should know how to disable everything from Windows, boot to CMD and launch a game with no need to start all Windows services and UI that are not needed.

2. GPU… Well, most games don’t even use the GPU to its full potential, it’s mostly CPU, so who cares about the GPU? What you get is more invisible FPS that you’ll never notice, because after 120, there’s barely any difference. Some people will say “Oh no, I can definitely tell the difference” but that’s all BS.

3. Go to Twitch, Soup, Kik, YouTube or any gaming streaming platform and check who is using Windows vs Linux for gaming, so no… Stop fooling around with “RIP Windows”, it sounds ignorant and ridiculous. Anyone outside the small 1% circle that doesn’t think they are unique and special for forcing themselves through hacks to run simple video games doesn’t care about Windows in the slightest, they would prefer to use unlicensed watermarked Windows rather than Linux.

4. Windows is much more than gaming, a lot of people use it for Photoshop and 3dsmax and Unreal Engine and music software like Ableton Presonus Studio One etc, and they don’t care if their GPU runs on Windows than Linux, if their software they use often is not available in their OS, that’s why Apple is a better choice than any Linux, at least you get the same software Windows vs MacOS, not so much for Linux. For example, the Marmoset Toolbag runs like crap in Vine, so even though it ‘can run’ doesn’t mean it runs properly.

Linux is good for large render farms or large VFX studios, but pretending people will switch between completely different OSes just for the sake of an obviously bad benchmarking is just stupid. It’s like comparing Vulkan to DirectX or OpenGL and pretending that one is better than the other, just because one thing seems ‘faster’ than the other, but there’s more to it.

So, stop being stupid, pretending to glitch in gaming and hacking to make something appear properly is a good thing.

How ridiculous is it that so-called (clown) “geeks” or “nerds” can’t even figure out how to modify Windows as minimally as possible without third party tools, know the ins and outs of Windows, which protections cause less efficiency in gaming, how to turn on Affinity and Boost, and preferably, how to disable every single non-essential thing. It’s not complicated, but some people will pretend Linux means 1% still matters in desktop computers.
