July 29, 2015. It was an important day, it was the day when Microsoft released Windows 10. Today, Windows 10 becomes 10. Happy Birthday!
Microsoft surprised many users by offering Windows 10 as Windows 10 from Windows 7, and Windows 8/8.1. Windows 9 was abandoned because if the apps detected the operating system version string as Windows 9, but there is misunderstood as Windows 95 or 98.
I have fond memories of Windows 10, aka Windows Threshold, and installing the first preview of the operating system in 2015 on my old PC. It felt like a real upgradation on Windows 8.1. The new start menu was given relief from the notorious Windows 8 full-screen menu. The UX design of Windows 10 felt like a fresh air breath compared to the metro UI.

Windows 10 introduced Windows Hello, Xbox PC app to keep some names. But the OS did not have a correct start, there was some criticism about Cortana, Settings App, Microsoft Store, and also about various stock apps that were sent with operating systems such as Onedrive, Onenote, Maps, etc., also concerned about secrecy due to various telemetry settings.
Windows 10 also introduced the successor project Spartan of Internet Explorer. It was later discovered as Microsoft Edge, then the edge was running on HTML and Chakracore engines, before the chromium’s blink engine eventually moved to the chromium’s blink engine in 2019/2020.

Windows 10 will reach the end of its support on 10 October 2025. There are ways to expand software updates for another year. With computers that cannot be upgraded to Windows 11, due to strict system requirements, going to Linux, or upgrading your PC, or buying a new computer will need to look at other options that can run Windows 11 to stay protected online.
In 2015, Jerry Nixon of Microsoft called Windows 10 the final version of Windows. What she meant was misinterpreted, as Microsoft suggests that Windows’s idea as a service. Those words now have a different meaning, they seem fit for the unpopularity of Windows 11.
Enjoy your birthday, Windows 10. You were the last good windows, o7
How long have you used Windows 10? Do you still use it?
