Sturdy! Tested with 450 pounds successfully. These are great, especially if you are buying for a larger person. Some chairs will have a higher weight capacity, but the width of the seat is too small. These chairs are WIDE!! They truly hold a larger person comfortably AND securely. These are quality chairs and built to hold a heavier weight.
